Michael Ernest Bloomer, 43 of Malvern, Iowa, unexpectedly passed away at his home on July 11, 2019.
Michael was born on February 15, 1976 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Sherry Lynn (Bartles) Bloomer. The family lived in Shenandoah, Iowa when Michael was a young boy, before living in the Malvern area. In school he was active in FFA and a member of 4-H. He deeply cared for the animals and livestock, and participated at the county fair each year.
Michael worked as a welder in construction.
Michael had many enjoyments; attending auctions and junking, spending time outdoors, and camping and fishing. He definitely knew his way around a kitchen and enjoyed cooking and was never without his pack of camel cigarettes.
Michael was preceded in death by his son, Johnathan "John" A.J. Bloomer on December 10, 2016; grandfathers, Sam Bartles and Forrest "Mike" Bloomer; uncles, Rodney Bartles and James Bartles; and cousins, Kaleb Peverill and Brandi Bartles.
Michael is survived by his daughter Joanna Bloomer of Red Oak, IA; parents, Ernest Bloomer and wife Sherry of Emerson, IA; brothers, Matthew Bloomer of Emerson and his son Aydan, and Samuel Bloomer of Omaha, NE; grandmothers, Rose Bartles of Malvern, and Margaret Helen Bloomer and Earl Thies of Glenwood, IA; extended relatives; and many friends.
It is so hard for me to believe you are really gone, Mikey. You have always been my lifelong friend and cousin. I will cherish all the memories and times we have had together. As you will always hold a special place in my heart and thoughts. Miss and love you, bud.
Mike will always remember the times playing and running around at the auction house and at grandma Boom Booms house. Going out into the field where the bulls were (we were having so much fun and the adults were all freaking out). Spending some of the holidays together. So many memories. RIP Love you
Uncle Keith and I had a great vacation with Mike last year in Tennessee. We love you and miss you.
Deepest Sympathies to the Bloomer family. Shannon Anderson Hilker.
My thoughts and prayers go out to family and Mike's dear friends. It's been several years since I've seen him but I do have several fond memories of Mike, his kind heart, and willingness to listen without judgement!
I know there are no words that will make losing Mike any easier. Words can not express my sadness. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. Much love,
Jim, Angie, James, & Jacob Uhlmann
