Teddy Smith, 94, of Glenwood, IA passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Omaha, NE. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the Glenwood Cemetery with Pastor Darrell Hopp officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m on Thursday at Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. The cortege will leave the funeral home at 12:45 p.m. to the cemetery. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Ted and his family.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Ted's honor to the Bloom Senior Center
Teddy Allen Smith, 94 of Glenwood, Iowa, passed away August 31, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Omaha, Nebraska.
Ted was born on February 8, 1926 in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Cecil and Delores (Stormer) Bagley. He graduated from high school in Lewis, Iowa. Ted served in the United States Army with the 311th Infantry Regiment during World War II, fought at the Battle of the Bulge at age 18. He received a bronze service star and was honorably discharged. Ted attended college at Northern Iowa, Simpson and Denver University. He obtained his teaching degree and taught history until retirement.
Ted enjoyed camping and swimming, Indian lore and of course, teaching.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Roger Bagley in 2005.
Ted is survived by his sisters, Betty Fetterman of Lancaster, CA, and Julia Linfor of Selah, WA; nieces, Christy Kidd of Palmdale, CA and Candice Brubaker of Moreno Valley, CA; and several special friends.
