Lee Anderson, 89, of Glenwood, IA passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. Graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 in the Salem Cemetery, rural Red Oak, IA. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Lee and his family.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to Wounded Warriors or Melanoma Cancer research.
Carl Leroy Anderson, son of Carl Oscar and Bonnie (Bishop) Anderson was born on September 30, 1931 in Coburg, IA. He received his education in Malvern, IA and graduated while serving in the Air Force in 1950. On August 11, 1949, he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving until September 9, 1952. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force he served in the Marine Reserves. He continued his education at the Parks School of Business obtaining certification in Business Management.
Lee married June Blackman on November 16, 1951. The couple was blessed with 3 children, Leslye, Bruce and Patti.
His work career included: Sales Manager at Shaffer Farm Foods out of Nebraska (1953-55); Carlson-Frink Dairies route sales in Denver, CO (1956-59); Territorial Representative for General Foods Corporation receiving their National Achievement Award in 1963, and retired in 1970.
Lee was a member of Emanuel Methodist Church in Denver, Co where he served as a Member of the Board. After retiring to Glenwood, IA he joined Grace United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending his spare time with his family and friends.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, wife June; second wife Nina; daughter Leslye Diener; son Bruce Anderson; siblings, Lois Mae and Mary Evelyn Anderson, in infancy, Jean (Elmer) Jackson, Charlie (Verna) Anderson, and ALice Maiers; and brother-in-law Keith Cody Stacy.
Lee is survived by his daughter, Patti Taylor and her husband, Terry of Arvada, CO; grandchildren, Blake and Kim Church, Christopher Diener, and Dawn and Hope Anderson; 13 great grandchildren; brother Albert Frank (Donna) Andersonof OMaha; sister Ruth Anne Stacy of Marion, IA; and brother-in-law Richard Maiers of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
