Dale Robert Dyson, one of three children of F. Zedith (Goehring) and Robert Dunbar Dyson, was born on December 23, 1928 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Dale grew up on the family farm outside of Carson. He attended the Carson High School and graduated with the class of 1946. Following school, Dale worked on the family farm until he joined the United States Army where he served in the infantry and was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. Following the war Dale returned to the farm working with his dad and brother Kenneth.
Dale and Jane Yvonne Fell were married on July 19, 1980 at the Carson United Methodist Church. Their marriage was blessed with three children; Angela, James, and Heather. Dale was a member of the Carson United Methodist Church, where he served as a Lay Leader, Sunday School Teacher, MYF Leader, and Summer Camp Counselor. Dale was also very active in the Carson American Legion where he served as the Post Chaplain and former Commander. He was a member of the Coral Lodge serving as Treasurer and Past Worshipful Master. Dale loved his family, enjoyed his grandchildren, and spending time in the garden.
Dale and Jane had been married 25 years, when Dale died at their home on August 30, 2005 at the age of 76 years, 8 months, and 7 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Jane Dyson of Carson, daughters Angela Beebe and her husband Brian of Oakland, Iowa and Heather Dyson of Carson; son James Dyson of Carson; grandchildren Nicholas Colvin, Courtney Beebe, and Hannah Beebe; brother Kenneth Dyson of Carson; and sister Reta Locke and her husband Danny of Paola, KS; and mother and father in law Velma and Tom Fell of Walnut, Iowa, other relatives and friends.
